Women’s Golf Ties for Third at Division III Classic
The Gustavus women’s golf team wrapped up the second and final round of the Division III Classic on Sunday at Emerald Greens Golf Course, finishing in a tie for third place. The Gusties carded a 317-316-633 (+57), which was eight strokes behind the winner Bethel.

Softball Earns NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Awards
The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) recently released its All-America Scholar-Athlete Awards and 11 Gustavus players were recognized. Athletes must achieve at least a 3.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) to be recognized as Scholar Athletes.

Women’s Soccer Wins MIAC Opener 4-1 at St. Scholastica
In the inaugural meeting as conference opponents, the Gustavus women’s soccer team defeated St. Scholastica 4-1 Tuesday in the MIAC opener. The Gusties improve to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC, while the Saints drop to 0-4-1 overall and 0-1 in the league.

Gustavus volleyball players Hailey Embacher (Sr., Mankato) and Madi Kes (So., Jordan) have been named MIAC Volleyball Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Women’s Soccer Tops UW-River Falls 1-0
Katie Ashpole’s (Sr., Chaska) goal in the 56th minute proved to be the only score Saturday as the Gustavus women’s soccer team beat UW-River Falls 1-0 at the Gustie Soccer Field. The Gusties improve to 2-2 overall while the Falcons drop to 1-4.

Women’s Soccer Hosts Dubuque Monday in Home Opener
The Gustavus women’s soccer team is set to play its first game on the Gustie Soccer Field since Nov. 2, 2019 with a non-conference matchup against the University of Dubuque at noon Monday. Both teams enter the Labor Day contest 1-1 overall.

Cross Country Wins Men’s and Women’s Competition at Crown Invite
The Gustavus men’s and women’s cross country teams both took first place at the Crown College Invite on Saturday. The men posted a clean sweep with just 15 points, claiming the top seven times, while the women recorded 30 points with four runners in the top 10.
