Aney, Nelson Receive DIIICA Regional Student-Athletes of the Year Honors

Gustavus Adolphus College men's tennis student-athlete Nick Aney and women's track & field student-athlete Birgen Nelson were among 20 individuals from around NCAA Division III to be recognized as regional winners of the second annual Division III Commissioner’s Association (DIIICA) Student-Athlete of the Year awards, the organization announced on Monday.

MIAC nominates Nelson for NCAA Woman of the Year, Aney for DIIICA Men’s Sport Student-Athlete of the Year

Birgen Nelson has been selected as the MIAC’s nominee for both the NCAA and DIIICA Women’s Sport Student-Athlete of the Year awards, while fellow Gustie Nick Aney has been chosen as the conference’s nominee for the DIIICA Men’s Sport Student-Athlete of the Year honor.

Men’s Hoops Earns NABC Academic Awards

Gustavus men's basketball earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award and had four student-athletes recognized on the Honors Court.

Gustavus Finishes 30th in Learfield Directors’ Cup Division III Standings

The final standings for the 2022-23 Learfield Directors’ Cup in NCAA Division III were released Tuesday and Gustavus finished in 30th place out of 323 qualified institutions. Gustavus had eight teams compete in the NCAA postseason, accumulating 520.5 points in the Directors’ Cup.
