Ericson, Villalobos Receive MIAC Elite 22 Award

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) recognized some of its best and brightest fall sport student-athletes on Wednesday with the announcement of the Elite 22 Awards. Two Gustavus student-athletes received the award as Erin Ericson (Sr., Onalaska, Wis.) is the women’s golf recipient and Evelyn Villalobos (So., Crystal) is the women’s cross country recipient.

Women’s Hockey Shuts Out UW-Superior 6-0

Behind an impressive performance by its top line forwards, the Gustavus women's hockey team won 6-0 at UW-Superior on Tuesday night. The Gusties improve to 5-0 overall while the Yellowjackets drop to 4-4. 

Women’s Basketball Hangs On for 81-70 Win Over St. Olaf

The Gustavus women’s basketball team jumped out to an early 25-15 lead after the first quarter Tuesday night against St. Olaf and was able to hang on for an 81-70 victory. The Gusties improve to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC, while the Oles drop to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the league.

Men’s Basketball Falls to St. Olaf 57-54

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Gustavus men’s basketball team traveled to St. Olaf on Tuesday night where they took a 57-54 loss to the Oles. With the loss the Gusties fall to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the MIAC.

Football Earns Eight First Team All-Conference Honors, Jakes Wins Stam Award

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its football postseason honors on Tuesday afternoon and 16 Gusties earned recognition. Senior defensive lineman Zach Jakes (Mankato) highlighted the honors for Gustavus by being voted the recipient of the Mike Stam Award, given the to Lineman of the Year.

Ripken, Witte Named MIAC Swim & Dive Athletes of the Week

Gustavus swimmers Kieran Ripken (So., Blaine) and Mikayla Witte (Fy., Glencoe) were named MIAC Swimming & Diving Athletes of the Week for their performances at the Grace Goblirsch Invite on Saturday.
