    A 58-yard touchdown pass from Jake Breitbach (So., Golden Valley) to Dalton Thelen (Sr., Cold Spring) late in the second quarter put the Gustavus football team within three points of No. 5 Saint John’s, trailing 10-7 at halftime, but 27 unanswered second half points gave the Johnnies a 37-7 win on Saturday at Hollingsworth Field.

The Gusties enter the matchup 5-1 overall, 3-1 in the MIAC, and 1-0 in the division, while the No. 5-ranked Johnnies are 6-0 overall, 4-0 in the league, and 1-0 in the division.

    Both the Gustavus men’s and women’s cross country teams finished in the top-five at the UW-La Crosse Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invitational on Friday. The Gustie men took fifth out of 23 teams with a score of 131, while the women placed fourth out of 20 with 137 points.
