Anderson Named Player of Year, LeNeave Joins on All-Conference Team

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its men’s hockey postseason awards Tuesday and forward Caleb Anderson (Jr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) was named MIAC Co-Player of the Year, while defenseman Will LeNeave (Jr., Medina) joined Anderson on the All-Conference team.

Four Gusties Earn All-Region, Qualify for NCAA Indoor Championships

The Gustavus men's and women's track and field teams will each send two participants to the NCAA Track and Field Championships. The men's team will send Steven Orzolek (So., Darwin) (shot put) and Taylor Rooney (Jr., Andover) (60m hurdles) while the women will send Birgen Nelson (Fy., Edina) (60m hurdles) and Tierney Winter (Sr., Waterville) (mile). The same four athletes were also named All-Region for their performances during the 2020 indoor season.

Gymnastics Finishes WIAC Championships/NCGA Regional with 175.925

The Gustavus gymnastics team competed at the WIAC Championships/NCGA Regional Meet on Saturday and took eighth place with a score of 175.925. UW-Oshkosh won the meet with a score of 189.675

Gymnastics Set to Compete at WIAC/NCGA West Regional Saturday

The Gustavus gymnastics team is set to compete at the WIAC/NCGA West Regional on Saturday, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The meet begins in Eau Claire, Wis. at the McPhee center at 4:20 p.m.

Men’s Tennis Blanks Hamline 9-0

The Gustavus men's tennis team traveled to Hamline Friday and defeated the Pipers 9-0. With the win the Gusties will move to 7-2 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC.

Rooney, Holland Named February Student-Athletes of the Month

Men’s track and field student-athlete Taylor Rooney (Jr., Andover) and women’s hockey player Hailey Holland (Fy., Aberdeen, S.D.) have been named Gustavus Male and Female Student-Athletes of the Month, which is voted on by the Gustavus Sports Information Department and presented by Thrivent Financial.

Rorman Earns MIAC Rookie of the Year, Gonsorowski Joins on All-Conference Team

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its women's basketball postseason awards Wednesday, with three Gusties receiving recognition. Caitlin Rorman (Fy., Blue Earth) and Ava Gonsorowski (Jr., Esko) were named All-Conference, with Rorman also gaining Rookie of the Year honors, while Paige Richert (Jr., Comfrey) was named honorable mention.

Women’s Track and Field Places Fifth at MIAC Indoor Championships

The Gustavus women's track and field team wrapped up the final day of competition at the MIAC Indoor Championships hosted by Saint John's ON Saturday with a fifth place finish out of 12 teams. The Gusties scored 83 points on the two days trailing second place St. Olaf and Bethel by just eight. St. Thomas won the meet with a 171.
