TO DO

TO KNOW
HOW TO GUSTIE
  • DORM PACKING LIST: Bring a fan! Any kind!
  • GUSTIE LINGO: Three Flags: noun, the common meeting spot just outside Campus Center where the American, Minnesota, and Gustavus flags fly. (Not to be confused with the less-invoked three flags outside Lund Center).
  • UNSPOKEN RULE: Gusties are known for—or maybe notorious for—holding doors open for people, especially for strangers, and especially if they’re 30 yards away. We’re nice that way!
  • CAF CREATION: Take two chicken tenders from the grill line to the sandwich station and make yourself a killer crispy chicken wrap!
  • ACRONYM DEFINED: The Center for Inclusive Excellence is often referred to as the CIE.

AROUND RING ROAD

  • LOCAL GEM: Ever heard of buff chips? It’s a must-try french fry/potato chip hybrid that can be found at a Gustie favorite, Patrick’s on Third in Saint Peter. “Buff” stands for Buffalo seasoning, which refers to the city in New York, not the animal.
  • SECRET SPOT: Gustavus has a tunnel system that’s not open to the public. Seniors get to tour it right before commencement.
  • INSTAGRAM: See what campus looks like on a beautiful spring day!
