Patricia Lindell Scholarship Application Now Open!

Every other year, the Folke Bernadotte Memorial Library awards a junior or senior student the Patricia Lindell Scholarship, established through the generosity of the Friends of the Library – Gustavus Library Associates. The recipient will be awarded $1,200 to undertake a research project of value to the Library and/or the wider Gustavus community. The scholarship is awarded upon the successful completion of the project.

Because of the time commitment involved, applicants are strongly recommended to apply for independent study credit during the spring semester (up to .5 credits).

The recipient will work with library faculty member Rachel Flynn during spring semester on a project related to the institutional repository, the centralized online source for a portion of the intellectual output of the faculty and students of Gustavus Adolphus College. The project will examine how to leverage the institutional repository to showcase the scholarship of the College community and the connections between this work and the information literacy instruction program of the library.

The successful candidate must be comfortable with technology, able to work independently and with initiative, possess strong oral and written communication skills, and will be able to manage their time to complete the project successfully.
