Women’s Hockey to Host Hamline Sunday in MIAC Semifinal

The Gustavus women's hockey team is set to host Hamline at 4 p.m. Sunday for a MIAC semifinal playoff matchup at Don Roberts Ice Arena. As the league's No. 1 seed, the Gusties earned a first round bye, while the fifth-ranked Pipers captured a 2-1 overtime victory over No. 4 St. Olaf Friday night.

Gusties Fall to No. 1 University of Chicago in First Round of ITA Indoor Championships

Gustavus men's tennis, the 2023 host for the ITA Men's Team Indoor Championship, played its first match of the tournament, and against a formiddable opponent nonetheless. The Gusties, seeded at No. 8 in the ITA bracket, matched up with the 2021-22 NCAA DIII National Champions, the No. 1 University of Chicago Maroons. The Gusties had a fighting chance, after earning a victory in the No. 2 doubles spot, but ultimately fell to the Maroons by a score of 5-3. 

Women’s Hoops Sets MIAC Record with 97 Points in Semifinal Victory

It's safe to say that the Gustie offense has had a pretty impressive season. After all, the Gusties have posted more than 75 points on 14 different occasions this year, including a season-high 91 against St. Olaf. As if 91 wasn't enough, the Gustavus women's basketball combined for 97 points, in the MIAC playoff semifinal nonetheless, to defeat Saint Benedict by a margin of 35 and punch a ticket to the MIAC Championship game. 

Gusties Fall to League-Leading UW-La Crosse

The Gusties faced quite the opponent Friday night, after all, the Eagles entered the meet as the current WIAC leader with a conference record of 6-0 and overall record of 7-2. The Gusties, hot off their record-setting performance against UW-Stout last week, gave the Eagles a good fight, but ultimately fell by a score of 189.525-184.775.

2023 Softball Season Preview

The Gustavus softball team kicks off its 2023 season this weekend, heading to Mankato for a series of opening games at the Minnesota State Dome. The Gusties will face Coe College tomorrow at 6 p.m., followed by UW-Eau Claire at 8:30 p.m. The Gusties are looking to build off last year’s season, finishing sixth in the conference with a MIAC record of 10-12 and an overall record of 15-22.

After a one day delay due to winter weather, the Gustavus men's and women's track & field teams are set to compete at the MIAC Indoor Championships this weekend at Macalester College in Saint Paul.
