On Tuesday, December 13, three Religion Department majors presented their theses at an evening event attended by faculty and students. Seniors Drew Elofson, Jaret Glander, and Sophie Martinez gave short presentations highlighting their motivating questions, key arguments, findings, and conclusions.
Writing on three vastly different subjects, these theses highlighted the diverse subject and methodological range of Theology and Religious Studies:
Drew Elofson, “Homosexuality, Romans 1, and Two Lutheran Churches”
Jaret Glander, “Applying Lutheran Ethics to Euthanasia”
Sophie Martinez, “Lina Sandell and the Hymnody of the Evangelical Covenant Church”
Those wishing to read the theses can find them printed and shelved in the main corridor, 3rd Floor of Old Main.
Anyone interested in becoming a major and learning the skills necessary to complete a personal research project in the humanities should contact any of the professors in Religion.
We wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season. See you back on campus in the new year!
