SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus Athletics department will host a 50th anniversary of Title IX celebration during Homecoming on Oct. 8.
The event begins at 10 a.m. in the Lund Center student lounge on the third floor of the new expansion. There will be frost-your-own cookies, mingling, and t-shirt pickup. All current and former Gustavus female athletes will receive a Title IX celebration shirt. At 12:45 p.m., the celebration will move to the Gustie Soccer Field for a Title IX anniversary presentation and photo opportunity with female athletes and coaches, past and present. There will also be recognition and another photo op at halftime of the football game. The picture will include all current and former female athletes, past and present coaches of women’s sports, along with Dr. Nicole LaVoi, who will be receiving the Making a Difference Award.
