The Gustavus Class of 2022 weathered the pandemic and thrived through adversity on their collective path to graduation.

Track & Field Sets School Records at UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier

A select group from Gustavus track & field competed Thursday at the UW-La Cross Final Qualifier with hopes of improving times and marks in order to qualify for next week's NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Women’s Track & Field Sweeps MIAC Postseason Awards

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its women's outdoor track & field awards Thursday and Gustavus won the top four honors. Birgen Nelson (Jr., Edina) won both the 2022 MIAC Outstanding Track Athlete and the 2022 Outstanding Performance of the Meet, while Annika Poe (Jr., Big Lake) was named the 2022 Outstanding Field Athlete and Aaron Lund earned 2022 Women's Coach of the Year. 

Four Gusties Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District

The 2021-22 Academic All-District Men's and Women's At-Large Teams, selected by CoSIDA, were released Thursday and four Gustavus student-athletes received recognition. Men's tennis player Nick Aney (Sr., Rochester), women's swimmer Ellen Hofstede (Jr., Hopkins), gymnast Brooke Merila (Sr., St. Michael), and women's hockey player Kayla Vrieze (Sr., Eagan) all earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.

Regina Olono Vidales '22, a political science major, will give remarks on behalf of the graduating class on Saturday, May 21.

Hanson Named MIAC Baseball Player of the Year, Five Others Join on All-MIAC Team

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) released its baseball postseason awards on Wednesday and five Gustavus student-athletes were named All-Conference, highlighted by Jack Hanson (Sr., Minnetonka) being named the 2022 Max Molock Player of the Year.

Hagestuen Set To Give Baccalaureate Remarks

This year, Gustavus introduces a senior speaker at the commencement baccalaureate services. Nora Hagestuen '22 will speak to classmates and guests.

Softball Garners Three on MIAC All-Conference Team

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference released its softball postseason awards on Tuesday and three Gustavus student-athletes were named All-Conference. Kaylyn Leonard (Sr., Plymouth), Madelyn Mueller (So., North Mankato), and Piper Otto (So., Brooklyn Park) were selected to the All-MIAC Team, while Rachel Kawiecki (Fy., Richfield) was named honorable mention.
