WAVERLY, Iowa – After carding a 313 (+33) during the first round of the Wartburg Spring Invitational on Saturday, the Gustavus women’s golf team sits in a four-way tie for second place. Bethel leads the field of 14 teams with a 304.

Sydney Regalado (Sr., Rosemount) is tied for 14th with a score of 79. Erin Ericson (Sr., Onalaska, Wis.) and Laurel Ward (Jr., Bozeman, Mont.) both shot 81 and are tied for 22nd. Annika Reierson (So., Delano) rounded out the team scoring with a 91 and is in 54th. Hannah Hubbart is competing as an individual and shot an 82, which is tied for 27th.

We didn’t get off to quite the start that we were hoping for today but we are still in the hunt,” Assistant Coach Randy Stuckey said. “Tomorrow’s going to be an interesting day with very high winds. We’ve been unable to play outside and work on the parts of the game that we can score and that showed up a bit today. I was really impressed with the effort with the girls finding ways to hit shots that were required. Looking forward to the battle tomorrow.”

The second and final round is Sunday at the Waverly Municipal Golf Course.
