Baseball Cruises Past Carthage 11-1

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Gusties continued to heat up in Tucson on Saturday afternoon, topping Carthage 11-1 after seven innings. With the win, the Gusties improve to 8-2 on the season.

Hofstede Places Sixth in 100 Free at NCAA Championship, Earns All-American

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Ellen Hofstede (Jr., Hopkins) ended the season placing sixth in the nation in the 100 Free at the NCAA Championship on Saturday night. Her time of 50.57 in the event proved solid for an All-American nod. Hofstede started the day qualifying for finals in the eighth seed before her final race of the day earned her the hardware while beating her own program record previously set last season. 

Men’s Tennis Falls to Bowdoin 6-3

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Gustavus men's tennis team brought the heat in doubles before being iced out by Bowdoin in singles for a 3-6 loss. Gustavus finishes the Stag-Hen Invite with a sixth place finish out of eight teams and posts a 9-6 overall record.

Women’s Hockey Takes National Runner-Up in Improbable Overtime Thriller

Gustavus women’s hockey erased two deficits Saturday in the NCAA Division III championship game against Middlebury, with the second game-tying goal happening with just one-tenth of a second left in regulation, but the undefeated Panthers took home the title with an overtime goal. Gustavus ends the season with its first-ever NCAA second place finish at 25-4-2 overall.

Men’s Tennis Day One Stag-Hen Invite

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Gustavus men's tennis team split its first day of matches in the Stag-Hen Invite on Friday. With the 5-4 win over Amherst and 2-7  loss to No. 4 CMS, the team moves to 9-5 on the season.

Gustie Women’s Team Places 22nd in 800 Free Relay

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Gustavus women's team comprised of Ellen Hofstede (Jr., Hopkins), Marit Isaacson (Fy., Saint Paul, , Abigail Yartz (Jr., Bemidji), Lucy Peterson (So., Saint Paul) placed 22nd in the 800 Free Relay with a finals time of 7:46.91. Tufts University won the event with a time of 7:19.17. The Gusties will compete in the final day of the championships on Saturday. 

Women’s Hockey Impressive in 5-1 Win Over Plattsburgh, Advances to First Ever NCAA Title Game

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's hockey team defeated Plattsburgh State 5-1 in an NCAA Division III semifinal game on Friday afternoon at Middlebury College, advancing to the national championship game tomorrow night.

Preview: Women’s Hockey Set for NCAA Semifinal Game vs. Plattsburgh State

The Gustavus women's hockey team, making its ninth Frozen Four appearance, is set to take on Plattsburgh State today at 3 p.m. EST at Middlebury College. The Gusties enter the national semifinal with a 24-3-2 overall record after defeating UW-River Falls 5-3 in the quarterfinals, while the defending national champion Cardinals are 25-2-1 overall after beating Colby College 3-2 in overtime.
