Ripken, Witte Named MIAC Swim & Dive Athletes of the Week

Gustavus swimmers Kieran Ripken (So., Blaine) and Mikayla Witte (Fy., Glencoe) were named MIAC Swimming & Diving Athletes of the Week for their performances at the Grace Goblirsch Invite on Saturday. 

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Gustavus swimmers Kieran Ripken (So., Blaine) and Mikayla Witte (Fy., Glencoe) were named MIAC Swimming & Diving Athletes of the Week for their performances at the Grace Goblirsch Invite on Saturday.

Ripken was part of a trio of first-place finishes at the Grace Goblirsch Invitational, helping the Gusties to a team victory over the weekend. Ripken finished first in the 100 breaststroke (58.65), 200 individual medley (2:04.43), and was part of the first-place 200 free relay team (1:26.05). He also logged an eighth-place finish in the 100 butterfly (56.27).

Witte registered four first-place finishes to help Gustavus to a team victory at the Grace Goblirsch Invitational over the weekend. Witte swam the 100 backstroke in 1:01.51 and the 200 butterfly in 2:19.07. She also competed on two first-place relay squads, as the 200 medley relay team touched the wall in 1:51.73 and the 400 free relay team finished in 3:44.59.
