Sandestin, Fla. – The Gustavus men’s golf team finished in eighth place out of 24 teams in the Golfweek Division III Invite, carding a final score of 876, 296-286-294 (+24). Emory University won the tournament with an 840, 12 under par.

“I think we envisioned a low score today and some putts were just missing early in the round, so it made it a little tough to catch any momentum,” said Head Coach Scott Moe. “We made the turn in decent position, then we started to mount a charge.  Top eight was really good in this field, it’s crazy how close it gets when we were only three shots out of 4th. We battled hard throughout the whole tournament. This finish puts us in a good position heading into the spring, we beat some very good teams, so we will see how the rankings fall when they come out in a couple weeks.  Great tournament for Wasko, finishing T11, Max also claimed a top 20, and Hoppe came up big with rounds of 74 and 72 the final two rounds. JP continued his stellar play this fall with a 70 and 72 the first two rounds.  Time for some downtime and hit the books.”

Wyatt Wasko (Jr., Lake Elmo) led the Gusties with a three round score of 214 to finish in 11th place out of 120 golfers. Max Ullan (Sr., Blaine) tied in 20th carding a 216, followed by Jacob Pedersen (Sr., Minnetonka) in 29th with a final score of 220. Andrew Hoppe (Jr., Mankato) carded a 226, and Carter Czichotzki (Sr., Moorhead) ended with a 246.

The Gusties have concluded the Fall 2021 season and return to competition in the Spring of 2022.
