DECORAH, Iowa – The Gustavus volleyball team concluded the Sugar Loaf Tournament with a set of wins over University of River Falls 3-0, and Luther College 3-0. With the wins, the Gusties finish 3-1 on the weekend, and improve to 4-1 overall.

“It was overall a good opening weekend,” said Head Coach Rachelle Sherden. “Especially bouncing back after the first match, which was a super gritty and long battle where we came up short for the outcome we wanted. But we learned a lot about what we need to keep working on, and it fueled the team the rest of the tournament.”

With the wins, Kate Holtan (Sr., Rochester) notched her 1,000th career dig making her the second player in program history to hold over 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs, alongside Katie Olstad (1992-1994).
