BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Bryce Novak (So., Cleveland) was a key contributor in Gustavus going 5-0 during the week with series sweeps over Macalester and Carleton. Novak had at least one hit in every game, batting 10-for-19 (.526) with four runs, three doubles, a triple, home run, four walks, and four RBI from the leadoff spot. He never struck out in 23 plate appearances and posted a slugging percentage of .947. Novak ended the week in impressive fashion, hitting for the cycle in a 9-2 win against Carleton, and getting the mound win in his first career pitching start. After 14 games played, Novak ranks second in the MIAC in batting average (.527), on-base percentage (.571), and slugging percentage (.855). For his performance, Novak has been named MIAC Baseball Player of the Week.
