HASTINGS, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s golf team finished with a score of 318 on day one at Emerald Greens on Saturday. The team currently sits in second place with St. Kate’s leading by two strokes.

Emily Kratz (Jr., Edina) led the pack with a score of 75 followed by Erin Ericson (Jr., Onalaska, Wis.) recording a 79. Sydney Regalado (Jr. Rosemount) is third on the score sheet shooting an 81 and Hannah Hubbart (So., Hastings) and Laurel Ward (So., Bozeman, Mont.) rounded out the scoring, both with marks of 83. Kratz also currently ranks second in individual scores and sits one stroke behind first place.

“Pretty solid day,” said Head Coach Scott Moe “We struggled a little bit out of the gates, but I think those are some of the tougher holes on the course. Very pleased with our battle throughout the day. If we clean up a little bit on the putting green, we will be in great shape tomorrow. Great round of 75 today by Emily. Being with every player for 18 holes today I think was a great learning experience for them and myself on how we can make a few adjustments to produce better scores. Looking forward to a great day tomorrow.”
