COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s track team wrapped up the 2021 season with a meet at Saint John’s.

RESULTS

Taylor Rooney (Sr., Andover) kicked the day off with a time of 7.90 in the 60m to hold a new facility record and to finish first in the nation. Rooney would also place first in the high jump (1.95) finishing second in the nation. Wyatt Quiring (Jr., Fairmont) came out on top in the 200m with a mark of 22.73.

In field events, Alexander DuMoulin (Jr., Shorewood) won in both long jump (6.68m) and in triple jump (13.88). Steven Orzolek (Jr., Darwin) had a toss of 17.04  in shotput to finish first and set a personal record.

“Our men had a fantastic meet all around,” said assistant coach Nathan Harder. “Taylor Rooney performed up to his potential, just missing lifetime bests in hurdles and high jump. Jack DeGonda and Zane Michael achieved new lifetime bests after racing intelligently. Wyatt Quiring and Seth Zeitschick had very impressive marks in the 200, with Wyatt placing 1st. Our jumpers Isaiah Subah and Xander DuMoulin held their own in long and triple. Finally, Steven Orzolek had a big lifetime best in the shot achieving his goal of going over 17 meters. All of our guys are really excited and feeling pretty dangerous heading into outdoor; there will certainly be some fun performances to watch.”
