    Birgen Nelson has been selected as the MIAC’s nominee for both the NCAA and DIIICA Women’s Sport Student-Athlete of the Year awards, while fellow Gustie Nick Aney has been chosen as the conference’s nominee for the DIIICA Men’s Sport Student-Athlete of the Year honor.

  • Women’s Golf Posts Second Highest GPA in Division III

    The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) recently announced its 2022-23 All-Scholar Team GPA Award winners, recognizing the women’s collegiate golf programs with the highest collective average team GPA during the 2022-23 academic year. The Gustavus women’s golf team earned recognition with the second highest cumulative GPA (3.818) in all of NCAA Division III.

    The 2023 inductees include Andy Bryan ’08 (tennis), Joyce DeWitz ’07 (softball), Molly Doyle ’08 (hockey), Julie Mahre ’08 (softball), Laura Stypulkowski ’05 (hockey), Shane Thielke ’97 (football), Joe Thorvig ’02 (baseball/football), Jess Vadnais ’08 (basketball), and the benefactor group of George Hicks ’75, Mary Dee Hicks ’75, John Huepenbecker ’80, and Marcia Page ’82.
