Andrew Stumbo (Sr., Boone, Iowa) capped his Gustavus cross country career Saturday at the NCAA Championships, taking 109th place out of 289 runners with a time of 24:55.5. Stumbo’s time today was his personal best and third fastest 8k time in program history, just seven seconds behind Bob Klindworth’s mark of 24:48 in 1991.

Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

The 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District Football Teams were released Thursday morning and Gustavus junior kicker Andrew Abegglen (Mound) and senior receiver Dalton Thelen (Cold Spring) were selected to the District 6 Team, which recognizes student-athletes from institutions in Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Andrew Abegglen (Jr., Mound) made a 31-yard field goal late in Gustavus’s 39-7 victory at Concordia to tie the program record of 13 made field goals in a season. He is now tied with Ryan Boutwell – who went 13-of-18 in 1997 – for the school record.
