Every month is Women’s History Month at the Library! You can find resources on women’s history, struggles, and achievements throughout the Library.
Women’s History Month: March was first recognized as Women’s History Month in the United States in 1987. The National Women’s History Month’s theme for 2024 celebrates “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion,” both in the past and in the present (More information: National Women’s History Alliance).
International Women’s Day: In March we also observe International Women’s Day. Celebrated on March 8, International Women’s Day is rooted in early 20th century labor movements and was recognized by the United Nations in 1977. The 2024 theme is “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress” (More information: United Nations, International Women’s Day).
