10 Gusties Selected CSC Academic All-District

The 2022-23 Academic All-District Men’s and Women’s At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA), were released Tuesday and 10 Gustavus student-athletes received recognition for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom.

SAINT PETER, Minn. – The 2022-23 Academic All-District Men’s and Women’s At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA), were released Tuesday and 10 Gustavus student-athletes received recognition for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom.

The At-Large category features Gustavus student-athletes in gymnastics, golf, and hockey. Annie Corbett (Sr., Brookfield, Wis.) represents the Gustavus gymnastics team. Annika Reierson (Jr., Delano) represents the women’s golf team. Katie McCoy (Sr., Grafton, Wis.), Tina Press (Sr., Cottage Grove), and Kayla Vrieze (Sr., Eagan) represent the women’s hockey team. Ben Forsberg (Jr., Shafer), Andrew Hoppe (Sr., Mankato), and Sam Skaar (Sr., Coleraine) represent the men’s golf team. And Jackson Hjelle (Jr., Delano) and Toby Sengvongxay (Sr., Luverne) represent the men’s hockey team.

To be eligible for Academic All-District recognition, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, and have played in at least 50 percent of the team’s competition throughout the season.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, Second-, and Third-Team Academic All-America honorees will be announced next month.
