Women’s Basketball Heads to UW-Whitewater for First Round of NCAA Tournament, Will Face Ohio Wesleyan

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) on Monday announced the 64-team field for its Division III Women's Basketball Championship and Gustavus (25-2) is selected to face Ohio Wesleyan (18-10) in the first round, hosted by UW-Whitewater.

Szalay Named MIAC Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

Allison Szalay (Fy., Urbandale, Iowa) won all three of her doubles and singles matches against nationally-ranked competition over the weekend.

Aney Named MIAC Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

Nick Aney helped the Gusties to a sixth place team finish among seven of the top-10 teams in the country at the ITA Indoor Championships over the weekend. In the No. 1 doubles spot, Aney went 2-1 over three matches, including a win over No. 10 Emory's top pair - the NCAA runners-up from 2022. Aney also helped the Gusties to a victory over No. 8 North Carolina Wesleyan, winning in the No. 1 doubles spot, 8-4. Aney was 2-0 in No. 1 singles over the weekend with a win over No. 8 North Carolina Wesleyan and a 6-2, 7-5 victory over No. 1 University of Chicago. For his performance, Aney was named MIAC Athlete of the Week. 

Women’s Hockey Advances to MIAC Championship with 5-1 Win over Hamline

The Gusties are headed back to the MIAC Championship game after defeating Hamline by a score of 5-1 in the semifinal matchup. The Gusties scored four goals in the second period for the victory, outshooting Hamline 52-7 through the game.
