ROME, Ga. – The Gustavus men’s tennis team wrapped up its fall season over the weekend at the ITA Cup. Marco Siviero (So., Sao Miguel de Oeste, Brazil) competed in the singles draw, while Drew Elofson (Sr., Saint Peter) and Gage Gohl (Fy., Sioux Falls, S.D.) competed in the doubles draw.
Siviero dropped his first round match to Aiden Drover-Mattinen of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 3-6, 6-7. Siviero lost his second match to Nicolas Teynie of New Jersey City University 3-6, 6-2, 3-6. Siviero then lost the third match to Alessio Azzalini of Trinity University 5-7, 4-6.
Elofson and Gohl lost their first round match to Matthew Feng and Eshaan Lumba of Pomona Pitzer 6-1, 6-1, but bounced back in their next match 6-1, 6-3 over John Zakowski and Luke VanDonslear of UW-Whitewater, getting revenge after their loss to the Warhawk duo in the Midwest Regional championship. Elofson and Gohl wrapped up the tourney with a 7-6, 3-6 (6-10) loss to Charlie Hames and Ryan Glanville of Emory University.
