SAINT PETER, Minn. – The No. 35-ranked Gustavus women’s tennis team cruised to an 8-1 victory over Bethel on Saturday at the Swanson Tennis Center. The Gusties improve to 15-6 overall and 7-0 in the MIAC, while the Royals drop to 9-9 overall and 5-3 in the conference.

I was worried coming off such an emotional win last weekend, but the team stepped up again and played their best match of the year against a very good team,” Head Coach Jon Carlson said. “The best part was how the team is already focused on tomorrow, and the next tough battle against St. Kate’s.”

The Gusties swept doubles play without giving up more than three games in any of the three matches. Again, the Gusties posted five straight-set victories in singles play, not allowing more than three games in any of the Nos. 2-6 singles. No. 1 singles was the lone loss of the day.
