SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The No. 30-ranked Gustavus women’s tennis team kicked off its spring break trip in Texas with an exciting 5-4 win over Whitman College on Sunday at the Newman Tennis Center. The Gusties claimed two of the three doubles matches before winning singles at Nos. 1, 5, and 6 to secure the match. The Gusties improve to 6-2 overall, while Whitman drops to 8-4.
“For our first outdoor match on a very windy day, the women played outstanding, patient, smart tennis,” Head Coach Jon Carlson said. “It was an awesome way to kick off our spring trip with a win over a perennially strong team in Whitman. Today was no different.”
