Gustavus Adolphus College COVID-19 Weekly Update: February 15, 2022

Every Tuesday, the Gustavus COVID-19 Response Leadership Team will send out a weekly update that includes tips and reminders, policy updates, and information about on-campus COVID-19 cases. These messages are sent to all students, faculty, and staff along with Gustavus parents who have an email address on file with the College.

WEEKLY TIP
Masking Level Update…On Friday, February 11, the College moved to Masking Level 2, which means that students no longer need to wear facial coverings in residence halls. Masks continue to be required in all other indoor spaces on campus, except in private rooms when alone with the door closed. When required, masks must be worn properly and completely cover the mouth and nose.
The COVID-19 Response Leadership Team is currently evaluating the College’s masking levels and criteria in light of our community’s high vaccination/booster rate and updated information from public health officials to determine if the metrics for adjusting masking policies should be modified moving forward.

KN95 Masks…The College’s shipment of KN95 masks have arrived and they are being distributed to members of the campus community. Students may pick them up outside the Evelyn Young Dining Room or at the Campus Center Information desk. Faculty and staff will have masks delivered by office/department.

The Book Mark also has child- and adult-sized KN95 masks and trifold-style adult KF94 masks available for purchase.

It is recommended that you rotate between two or more KN95 masks, letting each mask air out for 24 hours before wearing it again. KN95 masks should not be washed, and should be thrown away when they are soiled or if the strap breaks.
