Every Tuesday, the Gustavus COVID-19 Response Leadership Team will send out a weekly update that includes tips and reminders, policy updates, and information about on-campus COVID-19 cases. These messages are sent to all students, faculty, and staff along with Gustavus parents who have an email address on file with the College.

WEEKLY TIP

Spring Semester 2022: As President Bergman said in her message to the community last week, Gustavus will begin Spring Semester 2022 in person and on campus as planned. While course modalities may be adjusted by faculty in some circumstances, students should expect that their classes will primarily be delivered in person and that most events will continue to be held as scheduled. The semester will begin at Masking Level 3.

Testing to Begin Spring Semester: Members of the Gustavus community are strongly encouraged to get tested before returning to campus and/or at an on-campus mass testing event at the beginning of Spring Semester. Upcoming on-campus mass testing options for students, faculty, and staff include:

Monday, January 31 – No testing
Tuesday, Feb. 1 from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 2 from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

All on-campus mass testing events take place on the second floor of Lund Center above Gus Young Court. No appointments are needed.

College officials will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments to campus regulations if needed.

Employees in Isolation/Quarantine: 5

This data set is meant to encompass the on-campus impact of COVID-19 by counting cases where a person may have been on campus while infectious. For example, students who are living at home or employees who are working remotely and not visiting campus will not be counted in these on-campus numbers. This information, along with statistics from the 2020-2021 academic year, is also available for viewing on the College’s COVID-19 Dashboard History page.
