This is an experiential travel course to Costa Rica that examines the causes and consequences of climate change and the biological, geochemical, political, and cultural ramifications of it. We will conduct our explorations in four main ecosystems and will visit and discuss conservation initiatives in each: tropical rain forest, montane cloud forest, tropical dry forest, and shallow marine. Seventeen students and two faculty leaders will embark on this adventure from January 4 – 24. This blog will try to capture some of what we see, experience, and learn. Welcome!
