SAINT PETER, Minn. – This weekend’s MIAC women’s hockey series featuring Gustavus and Bethel is cancelled due to COVID testing protocols. The games were originally scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday in Saint Peter and 2 p.m. Saturday in Blaine.
According to the MIAC COVID-19 competition plan, any contest that is unable to be completed due to COVID-19 roster-related issues on the assigned date will automatically be considered a forfeit in the conference standings. This plan was approved by the MIAC President’s Council in October.
The Gusties will be credited with two 1-0 victories in the MIAC standings and the Royals will be charged with two losses. These forfeits only affect the MIAC standings and are considered by the NCAA as no contests.
Both games may be rescheduled for a later date as non-conference games, but will not count in the MIAC standings.
