Volleyball Heads to UW-Eau Claire for NCAA Regional, Will Face Chicago

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) on Monday morning announced the 64-team field for its Division III Volleyball Championship and Gustavus (26-5) is selected to face the University of Chicago (17-9) in the first round of the regional tournament, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. 

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) on Monday morning announced the 64-team field for its Division III Volleyball Championship and Gustavus (26-5) is selected to face the University of Chicago (17-9) in the first round of the regional tournament, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Chicago earned an at-large bid after taking third place in the University Athletic Association. The Maroons went 5-2 in conference play and and have won six of their last eight matches. The first round matchup between the Gusties and Maroons will be the second ever meeting between the two programs. The first was on Sept. 16, 2017 when the Gusties claimed a 3-0 win at the UW-Eau Claire tournament.

The Gusties are in a regional bracket that also includes host UW-Eau Claire, Greenville, Northwestern-St. Paul, Illinois Wesleyan, Hope and Whitworth.
