Solid start today by the guys,” said Head Coach Scott Moe. “Just tried to put ourselves in a good position on day one and we did that. Very solid plan, play, and finish from Wasko, Max and JP. We made a fair number of birdies, but we need to avoid the big numbers.  Looking forward to competing again tomorrow.  It’s a great field and I know some teams will play better after seeing the course in tournament conditions, and I think we will as well.”

Jacob Pedersen (Sr., Minnetonka) leads the pack tied in fourth carding a 70 (-1), followed by Max Ullan (Sr., Blaine) and Wyatt Wasko (Jr., Lake Elmo) who each shot 73 (+2) to rank 18th. Andrew Hoppe (Jr., Mankato) finished the day shooting an 80 (+9) while Carter Czichotzki (Sr., Moorhead) carded an 82 (+11).

The Gusties tee off again tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. in round two of the tournament.
