HASTINGS, Minn. – After day one of the DIII Classic against a very talented field, Gustavus is currently sitting in in third place at +29 after shooting a 317 as a team. They are right on the heels of two tough Bethel University squads.

“Great field today at our event,” said Head Coach Scott Moe. “Emerald Greens played pretty tough, the direction of the wind made some long holes really long today. We had some really good stretches of good golf, but we lost our confidence on some holes. It’s always tough after you have a great weekend like we did last week setting a program record. You have those same expectations the next time you play, and obviously it’s not always going to be your best. I expect us to have a really good day tomorrow and looking forward to that opportunity.”

The Gustie lineup is led by Erin Ericson (Sr., Onalaska, Wis.) who shot a 76, putting her at +4 in a tie for 6th while Emily Kratz (Sr., Edina) carded a 77, which is good for +5 in a tie for 8th. The scoring is rounded out by the trio of Laurel Ward (Jr., Bozeman, Mont.) (81), Annika Reierson (So., Delano) (83), Sydney Regalado (Sr., Rosemount) (85).

The team tees off again at 8 am Sunday morning for the second round.
