SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s soccer team will travel to Colorado Springs, Colo. on Saturday afternoon to take on Colorado College in a 2:00 p.m. contest. The Gusties enter 0-1 overall while the Tigers are slated to begin season play.
The Series: Saturday’s contest marks the eleventh all-time meeting between the Gusties and Tigers with a 5-5 series record. The Gusties won in the 2019 season match 3-2 in Chicago.
Scouting the Gusties: Gustavus comes into the contest most recently falling to Wartburg on Wednesday in a 2-1 finish. Cole Schwartz had the lone goal with Nolan Garvin being credited on the assist. Wesley Sanders is set to get the start in net for the Gusties.
Scouting the Tigers: Colorado brings a fresh lineup of first-year talent with 12 newcomers. Sophomore goalkeeper Keleher Felton returns after an all-conference nod following his 8-1 record and .864 save percentage. Kiran Singh leads the team after putting up eleven points in ten games in the Tigers 2020-21 season. The back line will be held down by Alexander Ward who tallied six points and junior captain Noah Johnson who appeared in nine games in the condensed season.
