Six Gusties Named MIAC Men’s Tennis All-Conference

The MIAC released its men’s tennis awards Tuesday and six Gusties were selected All-Conference. BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The MIAC released its men’s tennis awards Tuesday and six Gusties were selected All-Conference. Jack Bergmeyer (So., Lincoln, Neb.) and Indraneel Raut (Jr., Oshkosh, Wis.) were named to the Singles Team, while Nick Aney (Jr., Rochester), Alex Budde (So., Menomonee Falls, Wis.), Daniel Fouchier (So., Nootdorp, Netherlands), and Xavier Sanga (Sr., Madison, Wis.) were named to the Doubles Team.

Aney, Budde, Fouchier, and Caleb Fridinger (Fy., Woodbury) are Honorable Mention Singles, while Fridinger is also Honorable Mention Doubles. Sanga was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Bergmeyer went 5-0 in conference singles matches this season for his first All-Conference honor. He enters the NCAA regional round 10-0 overall in singles.

Raut posted a 6-0 singles mark in the MIAC this year, earning his first All-MIAC nod. He is 10-1 overall this year, playing mostly at the No. 2 spot.

Aney, playing exclusively at No. 1 singles, posted a 2-1 league record and is 3-4 overall. In doubles, also playing exclusively at No. 1, Aney went 7-0 in the MIAC and is 10-3 overall for his second All-Conference honor.

Budde went 4-1 in MIAC singles and is 8-2 overall. In doubles, Budde went 7-0 in the conference with Aney at No. 1 and they are 10-3 overall.

Fouchier, playing No. 2 doubles, went 6-0 in the conference and is 11-1 overall with Sanga as his main partner. Sanga went 6-0 in the MIAC and is 9-1 overall.

Fridinger went 4-0 in MIAC singles and 6-1 in MIAC doubles.
