LE SUEUR, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s golf team hosted 14 teams for their annual Bobby Krig Invitational tournament. The team tied in third after their final rounds on Monday finishing with a score of 620 (+56).
St. Thomas won the event with a total score of 603 (+39).
“I would say that LeSueur country club And mother nature were victorious today,” said Head Coach Scott Moe “Really tough conditions to compete in, the course responded a little differently than it normally does and we didn’t adjust early enough. We learned quite a bit today about the importance of remaining patient and accepting what the conditions offer. We battled hard to climb up into third place, and we are excited for the Saint John’s tournament this coming weekend.”
Jacob Pedersen (Jr., Minnetonka) led off for the Gusties shooting 70-81-151 (+10) finishing tied in third overall. Sam Skaar (Jr., Bovey) recorded a 77-79-156 tying in 16th. Tommy Hiniker (Fy., Edina) posted an 83-75-158 (+17) to rank 22nd, Andrew Hoppe (So., Mankato) tied in 28th shooting 79-80-159 (+18), and Wyatt Wasko (So., Lake Elmo) rounded out the scoring with an 82-78-160 mark placing 32nd.
