COVID-19 Weekly Update: March 16, 2021

TO: The Gustavus Community

FROM: COVID-19 Response Leadership Team

SUBJECT: COVID-19 Weekly Update

DATE: March 16, 2021

WEEKLY TIP

Stay vigilant, Gusties! While campus COVID-19 numbers have been low for the past several weeks, some state regulations have been loosened, and people are beginning to get vaccinated, there are reports of COVID-19 variants spreading in Mankato and Carver County. COVID-19 variants are generally considered to be more transmissible than the original strain, which means that we must continue to practice physical distancing, wear face coverings, and follow other public health recommendations even though our numbers look good right now. If you witness a COVID-19 violation by a member of the Gustavus community on or off campus, feel free to report it here.

This data set is meant to encompass the on-campus impact of COVID-19 by counting cases where a person may have been on campus while infectious. For example, students who are living at home or employees who are working remotely and not visiting campus will not be counted in these on-campus numbers. This information is also available for viewing on the College’s COVID-19 Dashboard.

As always, if you have any questions, please consult the College’s COVID-19 website and email g-covidresponse@gustavus.edu.
