Gustavus Winter Sports Begin MIAC Schedules Feb. 6

Gustavus winter sports teams will begin their conference seasons on Saturday, Feb. 6 after the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Presidents' Council voted to approve plans for a return to competitive athletics this winter.

Hall of Famers Coached by a Hall of Famer; 1950s Golden Era of Gustie Men’s Hoops

The 1950s truly was the golden era of Gustavus men’s basketball. Head Coach Gus Young guided the Gusties to three consecutive runner-up finishes in the MIAC before dethroning Jon Hutton’s Hamline Pipers for conference championships in 1954, 1955, and 1956.
