On-Campus Mask Guidelines | Effective May 18, 2020

by

Effective May 18, 2020 and in accordance with guidance from the CDC and Minnesota Department of Health, Gustavus is requiring employees and students entering buildings on campus to wear a mask. Employees working alone in their offices do not need to wear masks, but anytime someone is on campus and within six (6) feet of another person, a mask will be worn (indoors or outdoors). Employees may use their own masks, or receive a mask from the College. Gustavus will be providing all employees with at least one washable mask as needed.

If you are currently an on-campus employee or on-campus student who wishes to receive a Gustavus-issued mask, please complete this form.

Masks MUST cover your nose and mouth to be effective.  Should you need to temporarily remove your mask, then please follow the instructions below.

  • Perform hand hygiene (wash with soap and water or use hand sanitizer) before and after handling a mask.
  • Avoid touching the outer and inner surface while removing the mask (touch ear loops/strings only).
  • Do NOT place masks on counters, computers, etc.
  • Any time a mask is removed, it should be placed on a paper towel or stored in a brown paper bag (not plastic). The outside of the mask should be considered contaminated.
