NORMAN, Okla. — The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Wednesday released the 2020 NCAA Division III PING All-America Team and Gustavus sophomore Jacob Pedersen (Minnetonka) was selected All-America honorable mention.

After earning All-Region honors last week, Pedersen gains national recognition after a solid fall season that saw him shoot a team-low 72.6 average. He ended the first half of the season by placing second twice and first once in the Gusties’ final three meets. Pederson finished second in a field of 120 golfers at the Saint John’s Fall Invitational after posting a second round 68, before taking first at the Twin Cities Classic the following weekend with a 71-71-73-215. Pedersen concluded his fall on a high note, shooting a 69 in the final round of the MIAC Championships to place second.

Pedersen is the first Gustie to earn PING All-America honorable mention since Tyler McMorrow in 2014.

A total of 29 golfers earned All-America honorable mention; the First, Second, and Third Teams were each comprised of nine athletes. Pedersen is one of three from the MIAC to earn national honors from the GCAA. Emmet Herb of St. Thomas was named to the First Team and David Schneider of Saint John’s was selected honorable mention.
