The Gustavus women’s basketball team is set to host Saint Benedict at 7 p.m. Friday for a MIAC semifinal playoff matchup at Gus Young Court. As the league’s No. 1 seed, the Gusties earned a first round bye while the fourth-ranked Bennies captured a 73-55 win over No. 5 Bethel Tuesday night.

The Gustavus women’s basketball team concluded its regular season Saturday afternoon, rolling to a 75-51 victory over the Cardinals of Saint Mary’s. With the win, the Gusties improve their winning streak to 15, and finish the season with a conference record of 20-2.

The Gusties entered Saturday’s game against St. Catherine needing one win to clinch at least a share of the conference regular season title. The opposing Wildcats, on the other hand, took to the floor at Gus Young Court determined to foil the Gusties’ plans.

It was a battle of the top two teams in the MIAC in Saint Peter on Wednesday night. The Gustavus women’s basketball team won its third straight game, and third straight MIAC matchup, defeating Augsburg 60-39 Saturday afternoon. The Gusties improve to 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the MIAC. 

The Gustavus women’s basketball team rolled to its second straight MIAC victory, defeating St. Olaf 71-61 on Wednesday night. The Gusties improve to 6-1 on the season and 4-1 in conference play.

Coming off of their first loss of the season, the Gusties were looking to redeem themselves — and they did not disappoint Saturday afternoon. A convincing Gustie offense rolled past Macalester, 89-40.
