Rachel Kawiecki ’25

“The sports management minor allows me to dive more into the backside of sports which revolve around the office and social media!”

With a major in Exercise Physiology and future plans to pursue a Masters Degree in Athletic Training, a minor in Sports Management has allowed Rachel to explore her passion for sports through a different angle.

She describes the environment of her courses as engaging and interesting, and appreciates that her professors feel like “equals” instead of authority figures. She has enjoyed the various research and hands-on learning experiences that she has received in the program, and feels that she has greatly developed skills that she will be able to use in her future career as an Athletic Trainer. Rachel says that the faculty within the program always have their doors open, allowing students to have informal discussions with their professors about things outside of academics. She enjoys that her professors view their students as peers and recognize them as future professionals. Rachel greatly appreciates all of the faculty that she has engaged with, saying “I don’t think I can pick a favorite professor because all of them care about you as a person and not just a student.”

On campus, Rachel is also involved as a member of the Gustavus Women’s Basketball Team.
