Yurie Hong (Greek, Latin, and Classical Studies) and Ellie Hartmann ’23 participated in the National Humanities Alliance’s annual meeting and Advocacy Day in Washington DC. They attended the humanities conference and joined the five-person Minnesota delegation to advocate for increased Congressional support for the National Endowment for the Humanities, Title VI and the Fulbright-Hayes program, and the National Archives. Funding for the humanities supports cutting-edge research, enhances teaching and learning on campuses, fosters healthy and engaged communities via lifelong learning opportunities, and preserves local history and knowledge for future generations.
