Gymnastics Scores 182.300 at UW-Oshkosh

Facing one of the top teams in the nation, Gustavus gymnastics had a tough WIAC matchup in UW-Oshkosh on Saturday. While the Gusties ultimately fell to Oshkosh 182.300-188.675, they continue to improve, posting their highest team score this season.

OSHKOSH, Wis. – Facing one of the top teams in the nation, Gustavus gymnastics had a tough WIAC matchup in UW-Oshkosh on Saturday. While the Gusties ultimately fell to Oshkosh 182.300-188.675, they continue to improve, posting their highest team score this season.

Starting on the bars in the first rotation, the Gusties were led by Kendra Smaby (Jr., Palo Alto, Calif.) who posted a 9.150. Smaby’s score was good for fifth overall.

In the second rotation, Marley Michaud (So., Sartell) led the Gusties on vault, posting a career best 9.550 for sixth overall, followed by Lindsay Bangs (So., Owatonna) at seventh with a score of 9.475 for another career-high score.

Olivia Jahnke (So., Hanover) continued to dominate on the beam, posting a 9.450 for the highest Gustie score and higest overall. Jahnke’s 9.450 edges out her 9.350 earlier in the season for a career high. Ashley Goeltl (Sr., White Bear Lake) added a score of 9.325 to tie for third overall and post a career-best.

Caylee Greeder (Jr., Mahtomedi) led the Gusties on floor, scoring a 9.400 for fifth and her best career score, while Jahnke was not far behind, adding her own score of 9.325 for sixth.

Overall, the Gusties scored 47.275 on vault and 45.100 on beam, while notching 46.500 on floor and 43.425 on bars.

The Gusties return to action on Friday, heading to UW-Eau Claire for a 6 p.m. meet.
