BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Marlee Turn (Jr., Kennedy) and Maren Sundberg (Fy., Eagan) were named MIAC Offensive and Defensive Volleyball Players of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon. Turn drove the offense for the Gusties, helping the team to a perfect 4-0 week, including MIAC victories over Carleton and Bethel. Turn posted 58 kills in four matches, including an impressive performance over Bethany Lutheran, posting a 15-kill 13-dig double-double and hitting a whopping .448 over the Vikings. Turn would add 42 digs in the four matches, posting three double-doubles for a team-leading nine on the season.
Sundberg was crucial in the Gustavus volleyball team’s success last week, posting 69 digs across four matches, including a 26-dig performance against Bethel on Saturday. Sundberg also chipped in nine service aces over the course of the week, and now leads the team with 21 total. Sundberg’s 331 digs on the season place her second in the conference — she is the only first-year in the top-five of the statistic leaderboard.
