COVID-19 Update & Mass Testing: May 9, 2022

FROM: COVID-19 Response Leadership Team

SUBJECT: COVID-19 Update & Mass Testing
DATE: May 9, 2022
While Nicollet County and the state of Minnesota remain in the green category according to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, on-campus COVID-19 numbers have increased in the last 10 days and remain at a relatively high level.
In response to this increase in cases, Gustavus will offer mass testing opportunities this Tuesday and Thursday morning for all students, faculty, and staff. Members of the Gustavus community are encouraged to get tested on Tuesday and/or Thursday from 9:30 – 11 a.m. in Lund Center on the second-floor balcony overlooking Gus Young Court. No appointments are necessary. Visit the Gustavus testing resources website to learn more about on- and off-campus testing opportunities.
Gusties, this is the last week of classes. We have almost made it! Please be mindful about practicing good public health behaviors to limit the potential spread of COVID-19 as our semester comes to a close.
Please see below for additional reminders:
Masking: High-quality masks work to protect the wearer from contracting COVID-19 and spreading the virus. Free KN95 masks for students, faculty, and staff are available at the information desk in the Jackson Campus Center. Members of the Gustavus community are supported in their decision to continue to mask when masking is not required.

Close Contact: If you have been in close contact with a person who tested positive, take a COVID test either 1) immediately if you have symptoms or 2) Five (5) days after your last exposure. Visit the CDC website for more information on when to test and go into isolation.

If You Have Symptoms: Begin wearing a mask immediately and arrange to take a COVID-19 test as soon as possible. If you are feeling sick, stay home. If you test positive, you must promptly complete the COVID-19 Self-Report Form.
