This week features the annual Gustavus Winds of Christmas Concert, The Choreographers’ Gallery, the Theatre Production entitled Solstånd, the continuation of the Battle at the River Bottom Hillstrom exhibit, as well as the final days of the Creative Summer exhibit.

Solstånd: a devised slow tempo play in the style of Japanese theatre artist Shogo Ohta. The winter solstice is a much-needed celebration of light in the darkness. Slow tempo, originated by Japanese director Shogo Ohta, offers a microscopic look at human behavior. solstånd, devised entirely by the performers, will explore a love of winter and outdoors, snowfall, the comfort of wool layers, warm food and fire, and celebrate brief moments of sunlight.

Hillstrom Museum
This exhibit features recent works by faculty artist Kristen Lowe, introducing a body of work using new materials and processes in which richly-painted soft wood is hand carved in intricate patterns, over which detailed charcoal scenes of animals in landscapes are drawn.
