DATE: November 24, 2020
Please see below for the COVID-19 weekly tip and on-campus case update.
WEEKLY TIP
#1: While Gustavus courses have transitioned to online delivery for the remainder of the semester and many students have left campus, case numbers in Minnesota continue to rise. All members of the Gustavus community, whether on or off campus, are encouraged to continue following COVID-19 safety measures and adhering to the state’s dial back plan. Remember that all Minnesota residents are eligible for free COVID-19 testing through a partnership with Vault Health. If you are away from campus and need to be tested, please take advantage of this program or work with your local healthcare provider. On-campus students and staff can continue to utilize the Gustavus Health Service for testing as appropriate.
#2: Yesterday, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz introduced COVIDaware MN, an app that uses mobile phone technology to help notify you if you have been in contact with someone who reports a positive test result. Created by Apple and Google with data privacy and public health as driving concerns, the app does not track your location or share information with Google, Apple, or the State of Minnesota. More information is available via MPR News.
