I have been retired for 8 years from my positions as Mathematics Professor at Wofford College and Chancel Choir Director at St. John’s Lutheran Church here in Spartanburg, SC. Until the pandemic I’ve been very active singing with 3 groups: The Chamber Singers of 1st Presbyterian Church, The Festival Chorus of Spartanburg, and the South Carolina Bach Choir, on whose board of directors I also serve. During pandemic isolation I’ve stayed mentally active solving problems in the journals of the Mathematical Association of America and physically active by riding my road bike 6-10 miles a day. My wife Kitty plays golf with a ladies group that carefully observes social distancing, and she and I are waiting to play with our pickleball group again at the YMCA when it can reopen safely.
